As a form of implementing the cooperation that has been established, the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), together with PT Medion Farma Jaya, conducted a graduate recruitment or campus hiring activity on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The activity involved the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science of FP USU and served as a concrete form of implementing cooperation in the areas of recruitment and provision of graduate lists.
The campus hiring activity provided students and graduates with an opportunity to participate directly in the recruitment process conducted by a company engaged in pharmaceutical products, vaccines, and laboratory services to support animal health. The recruitment process also served as a means of matching graduate competencies with human resource needs in the industrial sector.
The recruitment process began with registration, followed by a psychological test conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture USU on September 15, 2026. Participants who proceeded to the next stage were required to complete their Curriculum Vitae (CV) online by September 16, 2026.
Participants who met the selection criteria would proceed to the interview stage with HR, users, and the board of directors. The recruitment process would then continue with a job offer, contract signing, training, and finally the participants starting work at PT Medion Farma Jaya.
From PT Medion Farma Jaya, the activity was attended by Asep Setiana, S.M., as Medion HRD, together with his team. Meanwhile, from the Faculty of Agriculture USU, the activity was attended by the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, Ir. Peni Patriani, S.Pt., M.P., IPM., ASEAN Eng., as well as lecturers of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science.
The implementation of campus hiring is one of the concrete forms of cooperation between FP USU and PT Medion Farma Jaya. The activity not only provides graduates with access to the job selection process but also provides experience regarding recruitment stages and the competencies required by industry.
For PT Medion Farma Jaya, the activity is part of its efforts to obtain prospective human resources with educational backgrounds and competencies that meet the company's needs. Meanwhile, for FP USU, the activity strengthens relations with industry while supporting graduate career development by expanding access to employment opportunities.
The implementation of this recruitment also demonstrates that cooperation between higher education institutions and industry can be implemented through activities that provide direct benefits to students and graduates. Moving forward, the collaboration between FP USU and PT Medion Farma Jaya is expected to continue to be developed through various other activities, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, Field Work Practice (PKL), studium generale, research, and human resource development.
The implementation of this cooperation also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. This activity is part of efforts to strengthen the connection between higher education and the workforce, expand graduates' access to employment opportunities, and build sustainable partnerships between higher education institutions and industry.
