Indonesian - Australian Environmental Internships 2024
The USU Faculty of Agriculture has welcomed 14 international students from various universities in Australia (RMIT University Melbourne, University of Technology Sydney, and Deakin University), as well as 6 USU students joining as a group in Indonesian - Australian Students Environmental Internships 2024 on Thursday, 18 January 2024.
This program began with an opening speech from Vice Dean III of USU Faculty of Agriculture (Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si.), Head of International Affairs Office (Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum.), Head of Master’s Program in Agribusiness (Ir. Diana Chalil, M.Si., Ph.D.), and Participant Experience Manager (Darmandi Veterando Sipayung). It’s continued by introductions of every participant and a presentation about Inclusive and Sustainable Palm Oil by Ir. Diana Chalil, M.Si., Ph.D., one of the topics from Indonesian - Australian Students Environmental Internships 2024 Program.
Indonesian - Australian Students Environmental Internships 2024 is an internship, networking, and learning program that lasts for 3 weeks, providing students with a holistic understanding of major conservation issues in the Indo-Pacific Region. Students will start their internships in an organization based in North Sumatra and interact with stakeholders such as the government, heads of industry, non-governmental government, and conservation organizations. This program explores several themes, including Environmental Science, Policy and Advocacy, Laws Regarding the Environment, and Sustainable Tourism. This program will commence from 18th January to 10th February 2024.
