Medan – FP USU: The public lecture and the inauguration of the Indonesian Agricultural Economics Association (PERHEPI) Medan Regional Board for the 2022–2025 period were successfully held in person at the Soeratman Hall, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
The event began with opening remarks from the Head of the Agribusiness Program at FP USU, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., followed by a formal speech and official opening of the event by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S. The event commenced with a public lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Bustanul Arifin, M.Sc., a Professor at Universitas Lampung, who presented a topic titled “Agribusiness Studium Generale: The Future of Indonesia’s Food Industry and Food Supply Chain.”
The public lecture was enthusiastically attended by participants, including lecturers, students, and PERHEPI board members. During the session, participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions and ask questions directly to the speaker at Soeratman Hall, Faculty of Agriculture.
The main agenda of the event was the Inauguration of the PERHEPI Medan Regional Board for the 2022–2025 Period. The event marked the conclusion of the previous PERHEPI Medan Board's term for 2019–2022, led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Mhd. Asaad Haza, M.S. Following the appointment meeting, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bustanul Arifin, M.Sc. was officially named as the chairman for the 2022–2025 period.
With this new leadership, it is hoped that the PERHEPI Board for the 2022–2025 period will continue the successes achieved by the previous administration, further advancing Indonesia's agricultural economy for a better and more progressive future.
