The Faculty of Agriculture at USU held a socialization event for the Integrity Zone Towards Corruption-Free Area (ZI-WBK) to enhance the integrity of the academic community. The initiative aims to create a clean and trusted educational environment at USU.

The Faculty of Agriculture at USU organized a Socialization of the Integrity Zone Towards a Corruption-Free Area (ZI – WBK) held in the DH Seminar Room – Peny, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

The implementation of the integrity zone in Indonesia aims to realize a sovereign, independent, and character-based Indonesia, grounded in mutual cooperation. Therefore, its implementation requires clean, effective, and trustworthy governance. This also relates to the Faculty of Agriculture as an educational organization under the auspices of the University of Sumatera Utara, an important educational institution supporting the application and implementation of this initiative.

The event began with an opening speech by the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Revandy I. M. Damanik, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. The session was then followed by a presentation from an expert in the field, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, SP., M.Ec., who is also the Head of the Agribusiness Study Program.

The goals of the development of the WBK/WBBM integrity zone include change management, improving governance procedures, structuring human resources management systems, strengthening supervision, enhancing accountability, and improving public service quality.

Therefore, a culture of integrity, service, synergy, result-oriented work, organizational ownership, innovation in service, and creating a ‘wow factor’ for unit excellence are needed.

The socialization process was conducted smoothly and carried significant meaning as crucial information that needs to be known and implemented by all participants as part of the academic community at the Faculty of Agriculture, USU. It is hoped that through this socialization, all academic staff, including lecturers and education personnel within the Faculty, can cultivate and realize integrity in their daily work, thus achieving the goal of making the Faculty of Agriculture a Corruption-Free Area (WBK).
