Lecturer of the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), Adrian Hilman, S.TP., M.Sc., Ph.D., has officially been inaugurated as Chair of the Indonesian Food Technologists Association (PATPI) Medan Branch for the 2026–2030 Period. Adrian Hilman, who also serves as Secretary of the Food Technology Study Program, FP USU, accepted the responsibility as part of efforts to strengthen the role of the food technology profession in Medan and its surrounding areas.

The inauguration was held at the Medan Agricultural Development Polytechnic (POLBANGTAN) on Saturday, September 5, 2026. This responsibility marks an opportunity to strengthen the contributions of academics and food technology professionals to the development of science, innovation, and the application of technology in the food sector.

As a professional organization, PATPI plays a strategic role in promoting scientific development and professionalism in the field of food technology. The new leadership of the PATPI Medan Branch is expected to further strengthen synergy among higher education institutions, industry, government, and the community in addressing various challenges and opportunities in the food sector.

The leadership also provides an opportunity to expand collaborative networks and encourage various activities that support human resource development, research, innovation, and the application of food technology that benefits the community.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, extends its congratulations and best wishes to Adrian Hilman, S.TP., M.Sc., Ph.D., on his inauguration as Chair of the PATPI Medan Branch for the 2026–2030 Period. May he carry out the responsibility entrusted to him and make positive contributions to the development of the food technology profession and the advancement of the food sector in Indonesia.

This activity also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through strengthening food security, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through capacity building and scientific development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening networks and multi-stakeholder collaboration in the food sector.
