The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again achieved a proud milestone with the inauguration of three lecturers as Permanent Professors of Universitas Sumatera Utara on Monday, September 8, 2025.
The inaugurated professors are:
Prof. Dr. Ir. Luhut Sihombing, M.P.
(Lecturer of Agribusiness Study Program and Vice Rector V for Asset and Business Management at USU), with an inaugural speech entitled:
“Institutional Capacity: The Key to the Success of the National Strategic Program Food Estate as an Accelerator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”
Prof. Dr. Mariani Br. Sembiring, S.P., M.P.
(Lecturer of the Agrotechnology Study Program and Secretary of the Master of Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture USU), with an inaugural speech entitled:
“Soil Organisms as Farmers’ Allies to Achieve Sustainable Agriculture”
Prof. Riswanti Sigalingging, S.T.P., M.Si., Ph.D.
(Lecturer of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Study Program and Head of the Energy and Electrification Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture USU), with an inaugural speech entitled:
“Innovation of Renewable Energy and Agricultural Electricity Technology for Energy Independence and Sustainable Agriculture in the Era of Industrial Revolution 5.0”
Dean of the USU Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S., expressed appreciation for this achievement. “We are proud of this accomplishment. Hopefully, it will inspire the academic community and encourage the creation of the best works for the advancement of sustainable agriculture,” said Prof. Tavi.
The USU Faculty of Agriculture extends congratulations and hopes that the knowledge and dedication of the newly inaugurated professors will provide broad benefits for the development of science and education.
