Pekanbaru – Dr. Ridwansyah, S.TP., M.Si., a lecturer in the Undergraduate Program in Food Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (TP FP USU), attended the Grand Reunion of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (IKA FP USU) Riau, held in Pekanbaru.
The grand reunion carried the theme “Synergy of IKA FP USU Riau: United Across Generations, For Alumni, Alma Mater and the Nation.” The activity served as a moment to strengthen relationships while rebuilding networks among FP USU alumni from various generations residing in the Riau region.
The presence of Dr. Ridwansyah together with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., members of the dean's office, and academic staff from various study programs within FP USU demonstrated the commitment of the Faculty of Agriculture USU to strengthening relationships and synergy with the broader alumni community.
The grand reunion was not only a space for strengthening relationships but also an opportunity to strengthen communication between the alma mater and alumni. A stronger alumni network is expected to open various opportunities for collaboration in education, research, community service, human resource development, as well as tangible contributions to the development of the agricultural and food sectors.
For the Undergraduate Program in Food Technology, participation in alumni activities is also an important part of expanding professional networks and building closer relationships with graduates who have pursued careers in various sectors.
This activity also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening networks, education, collaboration, and the contributions of alumni and the alma mater to society and development.
