This event marked an initial step toward strengthening the use of digital technology to support education, research, and knowledge development within the USU Agribusiness academic community.

The event was opened by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness, Dr. Sri Fajar Ayu, S.P., M.M., accompanied by the Program Secretary, R.B. Moh. Ibrahim Fatoni, S.Pi., M.P. The launch was part of the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness's efforts to develop academic services that adapt to advances in information technology and the learning needs of the digital era.

The Secretary of the USU Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness delivered an information session and introduced the D-Lib AGBUSU (Digital Library of Agribusiness USU) application during the soft launch of the PS-AGB USU Digital Library at the Agribusiness Computer Laboratory.

The PS-AGB USU Digital Library application, introduced under the identity D-Lib AGBUSU (Digital Library of Agribusiness USU), was designed to facilitate access to knowledge resources for the academic community. This digital service is expected to strengthen literacy culture, facilitate the search for learning resources, and encourage students and lecturers to make greater use of information resources in academic activities.

The D-Lib AGBUSU application was developed by lecturers and educational staff of the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, as an academic contribution to promoting innovation and digital transformation in higher education. The development of this application reflects the use of expertise and technology to provide academic support services relevant to the needs of the academic community, particularly in accessing knowledge resources and supporting learning and research activities.

Amid the rapid development of information technology, access to knowledge resources has become an important aspect of improving the quality of learning in higher education. Students are not only expected to understand course materials but also to develop the ability to search for, examine, and critically use information to support the completion of assignments, the preparation of scientific papers, and the development of research ideas.

Through the development of the PS-AGB USU Digital Library, the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness seeks to address these needs by utilizing digital technology. This initiative also aligns with the growing demand for learning that is more flexible, efficient, and oriented toward strengthening student competencies.

The soft launch marks the initial stage of introducing the application and encouraging its use within the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness. This service is expected not only to serve as an innovation in providing academic facilities but also to become part of the development of a sustainable digital learning ecosystem.

Furthermore, digital libraries have the potential to support the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi), particularly in education and research. Easier access to knowledge resources is expected to encourage students and lecturers to expand their references, improve the quality of academic studies, and develop research relevant to the dynamics of the agribusiness sector.

The academic community of the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness participated in the information session and introduction to the D-Lib AGBUSU (Digital Library of Agribusiness USU) application during the soft launch of the PS-AGB USU Digital Library at the Agribusiness Computer Laboratory.

The USU Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness hopes that D-Lib AGBUSU will be optimally utilized by the academic community and become part of an academic culture that prioritizes literacy, innovation, and productive use of technology.

Through this initiative, the USU Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness reaffirms its commitment to continuously adapting to technological developments and providing academic services that support improvements in educational quality.

The development of D-Lib AGBUSU aligns with the commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, through support for access to knowledge and the strengthening of academic literacy culture, as well as Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through the use of digital technology in developing academic services. The presence of this digital library is expected to serve as a tangible step by the USU Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness toward building an innovative, inclusive, and sustainable learning ecosystem.
