The Doctoral Program in Agricultural Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, has once again produced a doctoral graduate through the research pathway during the Open Examination held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM WIB in the IMT-GT Room, USU Rectorate Building, conducted in a hybrid format.
The student, Agustina E. Br Marpaung (Student ID: 238104004), successfully defended her dissertation entitled “The Potential of Indigenous Phosphate-Solubilizing Microorganisms on P Availability and Shallot Production in Andisols.” In the examination, she was declared to have passed with Cum Laude distinction, achieving a perfect GPA of 4.00 and a study duration of 2 years and 8 months.
This achievement marks Agustina as the first doctoral graduate of 2026 in the USU Agricultural Science Doctoral Program and the second graduate through the research pathway.
The open examination session was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Dr. Rulianda P. Wibowo. The promoter team consisted of Prof. Ir. T. Sabrina as promoter, Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Rauf, and Dr. Dwi N. Susilowati as co-promoters.
Also present as examiners were Prof. Dr. Mariani Sembiring and Dr. Ir. Sarifuddin, along with Prof. Dr. Ir. Lisa Mawarni as the program secretary.
This achievement reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Agriculture USU in supporting the development of innovative research in agriculture, particularly in the utilization of indigenous microorganisms to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in Indonesia.
