The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), once again facilitated career opportunities for graduates by hosting the recruitment of PT. New Hope Medan, combined with a general lecture themed “Technical Service Job Opportunities 2025,” on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), once again became the venue for company recruitment on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. This time, PT. New Hope Medan offered opportunities for graduates by conducting a selection process attended by around 50 alumni from various faculties and universities across North Sumatra.

Before entering the walk-in interview stage, participants attended a general lecture themed “Technical Service Job Opportunities 2025” delivered by Berlin Gea, S.Pt., M.Si., Assistant Manager of Technical Service (Marketing Dept) at PT. New Hope Medan.

The event was also attended by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, FP USU, Dr. Ir. Ma’ruf Tafsin, M.Si., IPM., and the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, Ir. Achmad Sadeli, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN.Eng. From the company side, present were Mr. Liu Shuai (Breeding Farm Manager), Mrs. Mariati (HRD Manager), and Mrs. Monika (HRD Supervisor).

In his remarks, Dr. Ma’ruf emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and industry to produce graduates who can adapt to labor market needs.
“Guiding graduates into the workforce is certainly our shared hope. Therefore, we expect continuous input from the industry so that universities can make ongoing improvements to meet the demands of the job market,” said Dr. Ma’ruf.

Meanwhile, Mr. Liu stressed that PT. New Hope Medan upholds a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous learning.
“We regularly provide weekly training for employees, especially in breeding and farming. This is an important opportunity for the younger generation to learn and be prepared to work in the field,” explained Mr. Liu.

At the end of the session, Berlin Gea highlighted the importance of technical understanding in layer poultry farming, which remains a challenge for new graduates. He hoped for closer collaboration with academia, especially the Animal Science Program of FP USU, to improve students’ technical competencies.

The general lecture was highly interactive with strong enthusiasm from participants. After the lecture session, the walk-in interview process was conducted, with around 50 applicants submitting forms and undergoing interviews. Successful candidates will proceed to the next test stage at PT. New Hope Medan.
