The Agrotechnology Study Program of the USU Faculty of Agriculture successfully hosted the VIIIth Indonesian Agrotechnology/Agroecotechnology Association (PAGI) event on July 26-27, 2024. The national seminar and workshop were held at the Digital Learning Center Building (DLCB) USU (26/7/2024), and field trip activities were held in Berastagi (27/7/2024). The VIIIth PAGI Semiloknas event was special because it collaborated with the 8th International Conference on Agriculture, Environment, and Food Security (8th AEFS).
This semiloknas is an annual routine activity by the Indonesian Agrotechnology / Agroecotechnology Association (PAGI). The theme of the VIIIth PAGI semiloknas event in 2024 was "Quality Assurance System for Study Programs Towards Global Competitiveness: Relevance of Agrotechnology/Agroecotechnology Curriculum". Present as speakers at the Semiloknas were Director General of Belmawa Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Suning Kusumawardani, S.T., M.T., Secretary General of PAGI / Chairperson of the Compilation of LAM PTIP Accreditation Instruments Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiwiyono, M.Si, Chairperson of Learning and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Lis Noer Aini, S.P., M.Si, Head of Agrotechnology Master Program of UPN Veteran East Java, Dr. Ir. Penta Suryaminarsih, M.P, and Head of Publication and Communication Dr. Ir. Tri Mujoko, M.P. Also present were the Chairperson of PAGI, Dr. Ir. Sandra Pakasi, M.Si, Deans of the Faculty of Agriculture and Heads of Undergraduate and Masters Programs in Agrotechnology/Agroecotechnology from various universities. The semiloknas was attended by 90 participants from 30 universities throughout Indonesia.
The Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, in a speech read by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S, appreciated and welcomed the implementation of the semiloknas as an effort to intensify the sharing of knowledge, thoughts, and the latest information in the field of agrotechnology, and support the recommendations of the semiloknas results.
In other remarks, the Secretary General of PAGI / Chairperson of the Drafting of the LAM PTIP Accreditation Instrument, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiwiyono, M.Si, expressed his gratitude to the Agrotechnology Study Program and the USU Faculty of Agriculture for facilitating the VIII PAGI Semiloknas in 2024.
