The Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology at the North Nias Regency Campus, which is under the auspices of the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), has a vision to become a superior and competitive study program at the national level in the development of sustainable tropical food crop cultivation technology and plantations. This study program aims to produce graduates who have the ability to identify, formulate, and solve problems in the field of agrotechnology, especially in the context of tropical food crops and plantations. Graduates are expected to be able to become planters, breeders, novice researchers, managers, and entrepreneurs with noble character who can contribute significantly to the economic development of society.
Our program offers specialization options for students who want to pursue the field of agrotechnology. Not only that, our program also has the advantage of being supported by 68 full-time lecturers including 9 professors who are experienced in their fields and ready to provide knowledge and practical skills for students to develop in the world of agrotechnology. Our program is very important and strategic to develop the agricultural sector in the North Nias Regency area through human resources (HR) educated by USU. Comprised of qualified individuals, we have a focus on developing the latest agricultural technology that can improve the productivity and quality of agricultural products in the area.
