Curriculum
The Macroeconomics course discusses the development of macroeconomic theory, national income, aggregate supply and aggregate demand, IS-LM model, money supply and money demand, imbalances and unemployment, inflation, open economy, trade balance, exchange rates, and economic growth.
The Microeconomics course discusses market mechanisms and price determination through the interaction of supply and demand, elasticity, production with one and two input factors, production costs, profit maximization, perfectly competitive markets, monopolistic markets, competitive monopolistic markets and oligopolies, consumer behavior, general equilibrium and welfare, as well as public goods and externalities.
The Agribusiness Analysis course discusses agriculture and agribusiness, natural and human resources, business scale and efficiency, agribusiness organization, finance and financing in agribusiness, policy in agribusiness, technology and its impact in agribusiness, planning and organization in agribusiness, and related case studies.
The Human Resource Management course discusses human resource and talent management, HR management planning, recruitment, training needs analysis, human resource development, career planning, performance appraisal/key performance indicators, financial compensation, non-financial compensation, work environment/health and safety, and labor associations.
The Financial Management course addresses cash flow management, business plan completion, business equity valuation, profitability assessment, succession and legacy planning, financial analysis, and budgeting for change.
The Managerial Economics course discusses an introduction to economic decision making, decisions within the firm (optimal decisions using marginal analysis, demand analysis and optimal pricing, demand estimation and forecasting, production processes and costs), competing in markets (managing in competitive, monopolistic, and monopolistic competitive markets, pricing strategies for firms with market power, strategies for changing the business environment), decision making under uncertainty, asymmetric information and organization, regulation, public goods, and cost-benefit analysis, and the role of government in the market.
The Quantitative Method course discusses economic models, statistics and samples, inferential analysis, regression and BLUE assumptions, model specification, cross section, time series, and panel data, data organization (descriptive analysis and simultaneous models), error correction models, probability models, distance models, and frontier analysis.
The Natural Resources and Environmental Economics course discusses the classification of natural resources, scarcity and economic activities, internalities and externalities, consumer surplus, producer surplus, and land rent, economic valuation of natural resources, natural resource management, renewable and non-renewable natural resources, natural resources as inputs in agricultural development, integrated development, and sustainable development.
The Agribusiness Production Management course discusses production strategies, production plans, organizing production factors, stock management, labor resources, financial management, operational and supply chain strategies, quality control, and waste management.
The Research Methodology course discusses the research flow, research problem, background, and research questions, literature review, theories, recent developments, and referencing, research questions and hypotheses, descriptive and inferential analysis, case and case studies, sample size and sampling methods, data and measurement, quantitative and qualitative data, primary and secondary data, data and questionnaires, results and interpretation, and research questions, results, and conclusions.
The International Trade course addresses general trade theory, absolute and comparative advantage, direct production and acquisition through trade, self-autonomy versus imports, trade, domestic prices, and national income. Bilateral, multilateral, and regional trade, tariff and non-tariff barriers, free trade, direct and indirect foreign investment, supply chains and international trade, global market certification and demand, price transmission, and farmer welfare are also discussed.
