Universitas Sumatera Utara has once again recorded an achievement in the development of scientific publications. The AQUACOASTMARINE Journal (Journal of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences) has officially achieved national accreditation at SINTA 2 (Science and Technology Index) level as a newly accredited journal.
This achievement was determined based on the Decree of the Director General of Research and Development of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology Number 2/C/C3/KPT/2026 concerning the New Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals for Period 2 of 2025 Rank 1 and 2. This accreditation serves as recognition of the quality of journal management as well as its scientific contribution in the fields of aquatic and fisheries sciences.
AQUACOASTMARINE: Journal of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences is an open-access scientific journal that has undergone a peer-review process and is published by TALENTA Publisher Universitas Sumatera Utara. The journal is managed under the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The journal was first published on March 30, 2022, and consistently publishes scientific articles twice a year, in April and November.
Each edition of the journal contains six research articles published online. These articles have been indexed in various scientific databases such as Google Scholar, GARUDA (Garda Rujukan Digital) Kemenristekdikti, and Index Copernicus International. Through this publication, AQUACOASTMARINE is expected to become a quality national scientific publication platform and continue to develop toward becoming an internationally reputable journal.
The AQUACOASTMARINE Journal has an ISSN Online 2829-1751 and Digital Object Identifier (DOI) prefix 10.32734. The journal is currently led by Editor-in-Chief Ahmad Muhtadi Rangkuti, with Managing Editors Rusdi Leidonald and Nur Rohim. The journal’s editorial board also involves academics from various reputable universities in Indonesia.
The achievement of the SINTA 2 ranking is an important milestone for the journal management and demonstrates Universitas Sumatera Utara’s commitment to improving the quality of scientific publications. This achievement is expected to encourage the improvement of research quality and expand the dissemination of research results in the fields of aquatic and fisheries sciences.
