In order to implement the tri dharma of higher education and fulfill the Key Performance Indicators (KPI), the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, initiated a cooperation agreement with the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Fishery Product Safety Station (SKIPM) Medan II. As part of the preparations, both parties held a coordination meeting to discuss the draft cooperation agreement at the Faculty of Agriculture's main building, 2nd floor meeting room, Universitas Sumatera Utara (Friday, March 11, 2022). This meeting was a follow-up to the initial online meeting held in February between FP USU, SKIPM Medan II, and BKIPM Central.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S. (Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara), Sondang Sitorus, S.Si., M.Si. (Head of the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Fishery Product Safety Station Medan II), Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si. (Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara), Desrita, S.Pi., M.Si. (Head of the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program, FP USU), Orbita Roiyan Dhuha, S.St.Pi., M.Si. (Coordinator of Service Management), Yustika Venawati, S.Si. (Head of the Cooperation Division), and several faculty members of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Based on the meeting’s outcome, both parties agreed on the main theme of the cooperation agreement, which focuses on the development of science in fish health, quality, and the safety of fishery products. The document includes 13 articles that must be adhered to and implemented by both parties. To conclude the meeting, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture expressed hope that after the signing of the MoA, both parties could immediately realize and implement the activities outlined in the cooperation action plan matrix between SKIPM Medan II and FP USU.
