The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), and Regal Springs Indonesia (RSI) discussed a potential collaboration on a Fish Restocking program in Lake Toba on June 18, 2026. The meeting marked an initial step toward strengthening cooperation in supporting the preservation of the Lake Toba ecosystem through synergy among academia, industry, and government. FP USU will provide academic and research support, while RSI is committed to promoting environmental sustainability through a collaboration- and innovation-based program.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), continues to strengthen its strategic partnership with Regal Springs Indonesia (RSI) through a proposed collaboration on a Fish Restocking program in Lake Toba. Discussions regarding the planned partnership took place in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, US, U on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

The meeting was attended by representatives of RSI led by Intan Hartika Sari, External Affairs Manager, along with her team. Representing FP USU were the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., Dr. Ahmad Muhtadi, S.Pi., M.Si., researchers from the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program, and the Dean’s Special Advisor.

In his remarks, Dr. Rulianda emphasized that RSI is one of FP USU’s strategic partners in supporting sustainability-oriented initiatives. He stated that FP USU is ready to provide academic support through the involvement of lecturers, researchers, and students, as well as by facilitating scientific discussions and research activities required for the implementation of the program.

Meanwhile, Intan Hartika Sari highlighted that preserving the sustainability of Lake Toba requires collaboration among multiple stakeholders. For this reason, RSI has taken the initiative to build synergy with FP USU as an academic partner and with the Marine and Fisheries Office as a government partner in implementing the Fish Restocking program.

The discussion was conducted in a constructive manner, focusing on the development of the collaboration framework, alignment of the program timeline, and formulation of the technical aspects of implementation. This partnership is expected to be realized in the near future as a concrete effort to support the conservation of the Lake Toba ecosystem while strengthening the contribution of science and research-based innovation to the sustainable management of aquatic resources.
