The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) has established a collaboration with the Asahan Regency Livestock and Animal Health Service to develop a strategic plan for goat and sheep farming areas and formulate Public Service Standards for livestock business licensing. This collaboration aims to support sustainable livestock sector development through scientific studies, strengthened governance, and improved public service quality in Asahan Regency.

Medan, June 17, 2026 – The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Asahan Regency Livestock and Animal Health Service on Wednesday (June 17) in the Dean’s Meeting Room of FP USU.

The agreement was signed by the Dean of FP USU, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., and the Head of the Asahan Regency Livestock and Animal Health Service, drh. Yusnani.

This collaboration focuses on the development of an action plan for goat and sheep farming areas in Asahan Regency, as well as the formulation of Public Service Standards (SPP) for livestock business licensing. Through a scientific study and policy analysis approach, both institutions are committed to supporting the competitiveness of the livestock sector while improving the quality of public service governance.

This partnership represents a strategic step in integrating the academic expertise of the Faculty of Agriculture USU with regional development needs. The resulting studies are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating sustainable livestock area development policies, strengthening the identity of the region’s leading commodities, and promoting a more effective, transparent, and service-oriented business licensing system.

The collaboration will be implemented from June to December 2026 and will involve a team of academics and researchers from FP USU working alongside technical personnel from the Asahan Regency Livestock and Animal Health Service. This partnership further demonstrates the commitment of both parties to delivering science-based solutions that support livestock sector development and improve community welfare in Asahan Regency.
