USU Faculty of Agriculture and Asahan Livestock Service Strengthen Collaboration for Livestock Sector Development The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) has established a collaboration with the Asahan Regency Livestock and Animal Health Service to develop a strategic plan for goat and sheep farming areas and formulate Public Service Standards for livestock business licensing. This collaboration aims to support sustainable livestock sector development through scientific studies, strengthened governance, and improved public service quality in Asahan Regency. 20 June 2026

USU Faculty of Agriculture Hosts Academic Visit from Australian Students, Discusses Indonesia’s Palm Oil Plantation Industry The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) welcomed an academic visit from Australian students facilitated by International Internships as part of an international learning program. The activity featured a lecture on Indonesia’s palm oil industry delivered by Prof. Ir. Diana Chalil, M.Si., Ph.D., and served as a platform for academic exchange and the strengthening of international cooperation between FP USU and global partners. 18 June 2026

Dean of FP USU Serves as Resource Person in Agrarian Reform Technical Guidance, Promotes Land Empowerment for Community Welfare The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., served as a resource person at the Technical Guidance on Community Land Empowerment organized by the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) of North Sumatra Province. During the event, he emphasized the importance of integrating asset restructuring and access restructuring within Agrarian Reform to enhance productivity, self-reliance, and community welfare, while reaffirming FP USU’s commitment as a strategic partner in community empowerment based on local agricultural potential. 15 June 2026

Faculty of Agriculture USU Explores International Collaboration with Peking University and YAGASU to Strengthen Environmental Research and Blue Economy Development The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) welcomed a delegation from Peking University and the Sumatran Elephant Foundation (YAGASU) to explore international collaboration in education, research, and environmental innovation. The partnership is expected to strengthen research on climate change, coastal conservation, blue carbon, and sustainable blue economy development in Indonesia. 13 June 2026

USU Faculty of Agriculture Holds Information Session on the 2026 NPUST Taiwan Study Abroad Program to Broaden Students’ Global Perspectives and Networks The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized an information session on the 2026 New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan. The event provided students with information on the opportunity to study in Taiwan for one semester, including alumni experiences, administrative procedures, academic life, and support available for Indonesian students. Through this program, the Faculty encourages students to broaden their horizons, build international networks, and enhance their global competencies through overseas study experiences. 12 June 2026

Dare to Dream, Dare to Achieve: UKM KLINTAN Holds Planting Future Vol. 3 Webinar, Inspiring Students Academically The Plant Clinic Student Activity Unit (UKM KLINTAN), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, once again organized Klintan Webinar Vol. 3 to inspire students through the spirit of “Planting Dream, Growing Achievement,” featuring Rivaldi Pratama, S.Si., M.Sc., a graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), who achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA and received the PMDSU Scholarship. 10 June 2026

USU Faculty of Agriculture Strengthens Coordination of Internship Program with Regal Springs Indonesia The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), has strengthened coordination for the implementation of its Internship Program with Regal Springs Indonesia (RSI) through a meeting held on June 4, 2026. Scheduled to commence on July 1, 2026, the internship program aims to provide students and graduates with practical work experience and competency development opportunities in the aquaculture sector. This collaboration is expected to further enhance the synergy between academia and industry in producing highly skilled and job-ready professionals. 09 June 2026

USU Faculty of Agriculture and North Sumatra Agriculture Office Strengthen Collaboration to Realize an Integrated Agricultural Region The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held an initial coordination meeting with the North Sumatra Provincial Agriculture and Food Security Office to strengthen synergy between academia and government in supporting regional agricultural development. The meeting explored various opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and community service, including coconut waste management in Nias and efforts to improve production and price stability of horticultural commodities. Through this partnership, both institutions are committed to delivering science-based solutions to support the development of North Sumatra as a sustainable integrated agricultural region. 29 May 2026
