News Event Students Activities Students Affair Innovation Public Lecture

Jungfood Ex-Fest 3rd by Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, USU Jungfood Ex-Fest 3rd at Universitas Sumatera Utara's Faculty of Agriculture successfully showcased creative and sustainable traditional food innovations through a food bazaar, competitions, lab visits, and inspiring talk shows. The event fostered student entrepreneurship and strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration between students, lecturers, and government. It highlighted the richness of local cuisine and emphasized the importance of food waste reduction for food security and a better environment, while also supporting the university’s performance goals. 27 May 2025

Speaker of the Faculty of Agriculture's International General Lecture, Prof. Dr. Shyam S. Sablani (Washington State University, USA) , Visited the USU Rector's Bureau Prof. Shyam S. Sablani from Washington State University Visits USU Rector's Bureau on May 20, 2025, after International General Lecture at Faculty of Agriculture USU. This visit was warmly welcomed by university leaders and discussed opportunities for international collaboration in student exchange, joint degrees, as well as research and publication partnerships. The event concluded with a memento presentation and the signing of a cooperation implementation agreement among the three organizing study programs. 24 May 2025

USU Faculty of Agriculture Held a Public Lecture with Prof. Shyam S. Sablani Discussing Microwave Technology and Food Packaging Innovation Three study programs at the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Sumatera Utara—the Master's Program in Food Science, Master's Program in Animal Science, and Undergraduate Program in Food Technology—hosted a hybrid public lecture titled "Microwave Sterilization of Prepackaged Ready-to-Eat Meals" on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Aula D.H. Penny. The event featured international speaker Prof. Dr. Shyam S. Collaboration Between North Sumatra Ministry of Law and USU’s Faculty of Agriculture Discusses Local Legal Products for Food Security The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of North Sumatra (Kanwil Kemenkumham Sumut) held a technical session on drafting local regulations focused on food security to enhance the competence of legislative drafters. The event featured speakers from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), and the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), along with legal drafters from the Regional Office and local governments throughout North Sumatra. 20 May 2025
