USU Faculty of Agriculture Community Service Team Promotes the Creative Economy through Fish Processing Innovation in Central Tapanuli The Community Service Team from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), conducted training on fish processing and the conversion of fish waste into liquid organic fertilizer in Lopian Village, Central Tapanuli Regency. The program supports SDG 8 by strengthening community livelihoods, SDG 12 by promoting sustainable waste utilization, and SDG 14 by encouraging more efficient and sustainable fisheries resource management. 31 July 2026

USU Faculty of Agriculture Lecturers and IDNA Assist Samosir Coffee Farmers in Plant Disease Management The Community Service Team from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), conducted an outreach and mentoring program on coffee plant health management for farmers in Sarimarihit Village, Samosir Regency. Through educational sessions, hands-on pruning demonstrations, Trichoderma application training, and the distribution of 250 kilograms of Trichoderma, the program aimed to enhance farmers' skills in maintaining plant health, improving sustainable coffee productivity, and supporting the achievement of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). 31 July 2026

USU Lecturers Launch Assisted Village Program in Simalungun to Empower Farmers Through Waste Processing and Animal Feed Innovation A community service team from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has launched an Assisted Village Program in Rabuhit Village, Simalungun Regency, to convert agricultural and livestock waste into animal feed and organic fertilizer. This partnership aims to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian coffee through collaboration among universities, industry stakeholders, and the Indonesian diaspora while supporting the achievement of SDGs 8, 9, and 17. 27 July 2026

Supporting the SDGs, USU Faculty of Agriculture Community Partnership Team Assists Farmers in Raya Village with Smart Fertilization and Digital Horticultural Marketing The Community Service Team from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), is providing assistance to horticultural farmers in Raya Village, Karo Regency, through a program to optimize the horticultural production chain using smart fertilization technology and integrated digital marketing. The initiative aims to improve productivity, cultivation efficiency, and farmers' market access through data-driven technologies, digital training, and strengthened partnerships with Arih Ersada Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). The program supports the achievement of SDGs 1, 2, 8, and 17 while contributing to the implementation of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU) through collaboration among lecturers, students, and the community. 22 July 2026
