SDGs 4 SDGs SDGs 8 SDGs 12 Students Activities Management Collaboration Education
Getting to Know the Plant Quarantine Frontline through Agrotechnology PLPS at the North Sumatra Quarantine Center Agrotechnology students of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, gained direct experience in learning about plant quarantine practices through the PLPS program at the North Sumatra Center for Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine. This activity broadened students' understanding of plant health inspections, supervision of the movement of agricultural commodities, and the application of plant protection knowledge in supporting healthy and sustainable agriculture. The activity also supports SDG 4, SDG 8, and SDG 12. 25 September 2026

Connecting Experiences, Developing Competencies: Agrotechnology PLPS of the Faculty of Agriculture USU at the Gedung Johor Main Horticultural Seed Unit Students of the Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), participated in Learning Outside the Study Program (PLPS) at the Gedung Johor Main Horticultural Seed Unit to gain direct experience in horticultural plant management. Expanding Agrotechnology Learning Opportunities through PLPS at the UPTD for Plantation Crop Seed Production of the Department of Agriculture and Food Security Students of the Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), participated in the Learning Outside the Study Program (PLPS) at the UPTD for Plantation Crop Seed Production of the Department of Agriculture and Food Security. This activity provided field-based learning experiences to understand the application of agrotechnology while broadening students' insights and competencies in supporting sustainable agriculture. 25 September 2026

This activity aimed to align education standards with the latest regulations while strengthening the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) and readiness for the 19th Cycle Internal Quality Audit (AMI) in 2026. 24 September 2026

MSP USU Lecturer Participates in Training of Trainer on Fish Stock Assessment Data Collection Amanatul Fadhilah, S.Pi., M.Si., a lecturer of the Undergraduate Program in Aquatic Resources Management (MSP), Faculty of Agriculture USU, participated in the Training of Trainer (ToT) on Fish Stock Assessment Data Collection on September 22–25, 2026, in Medan. This activity strengthened competencies in fisheries biological data collection and scientific, data-based stock assessment to support sustainable fisheries management, while also strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions, the government, and fisheries sector stakeholders. 24 September 2026

MSP USU Lecturer Presents Fish Biodiversity in the Belawan Watershed at The 8th ICOnART 2026 Lecturers and students of the Undergraduate Program in Aquatic Resources Management (MSP), Faculty of Agriculture, USU, participated in the 8th ICOnART 2026 through a presentation of research on fish biodiversity in the Belawan Watershed. In addition to presenting research findings, Julia Syahriani Hasibuan, M.Sc., also served as one of the moderators during the conference. This activity strengthened the dissemination of MSP research while supporting biodiversity conservation and sustainable aquatic ecosystem management. 24 September 2026

Chrysanthemum Flower Tea from FP USU Research Introduced at the Business Matching and Community Market Linkage Expo 2026 The Faculty of Agriculture USU introduced Art-teasant Chrysant Tea, a Ready to Drink beverage made from chrysanthemum flowers resulting from research and collaboration with BUMDes Arih Ersada Raya, at the Business Matching and Community Market Linkage Expo 2026 in Kabanjahe. This activity was part of efforts to downstream research, utilize local potential, and develop value-added food products. 23 September 2026

FP USU and PT Keloria Moringa Jaya Establish Cooperation for the Downstreaming of Batik Cultivar Chrysanthemum Tea Research FP USU and PT Keloria Moringa Jaya have established research downstreaming cooperation to develop and commercialize Ready-to-Drink (RTD) Tea made from Batik Cultivar Chrysanthemum as a functional food product. This collaboration strengthens the utilization of research outcomes through technology transfer and mass production, in line with SDG 9 and SDG 17. 23 September 2026
