Students gained practical insights into export and import, food product market opportunities, as well as preparation for the world of work and business. USU Research Identifies Non-Genetic Factors of the Reproductive Index of Local Buffaloes in North Tapanuli The Faculty of Agriculture at USU conducted research to identify non-genetic factors associated with the reproductive index of female buffaloes in smallholder farms in North Tapanuli Regency. This research is expected to produce a scientific database as a basis for developing buffalo reproductive management that is appropriate to local conditions and sustainable. 18 September 2026

USU Community Service Program Develops Biotransformation of Cassava Waste and Livestock Urine with the KAPEDO Group Universitas Sumatera Utara, through the Faculty of Agriculture, carried out a Community Service Program with the KAPEDO Livestock Group in Deli Serdang through the utilization of cassava waste and livestock urine into silage and liquid organic fertilizer. Supported by appropriate technology, training, and assistance, this program encourages increased group productivity while promoting the implementation of more sustainable agricultural and livestock systems. 18 September 2026
