Field Internship Supervision at PTPN IV Regional II Bah Butong Tea Plantation Unit Officially Completed Student field internship supervision at PTPN IV Regional II Bah Butong Tea Plantation Unit was completed on July 28, 2026, as an effort to ensure that practice-based learning was carried out optimally. Rekindling the Cocoa Farming Spirit in Perbesi Village, FP USU Lecturers Introduce Superior ICCRI-08H Seedlings and Biological Technology The Agrotechnology Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), conducted a community service program for cocoa farmers in Perbesi Village, Karo Regency, through the introduction of 1,300 superior ICCRI-08H hybrid seedlings and the application of biological technology for pest and disease management. The program aims to improve the productivity, capacity, and sustainability of cocoa farming through collaboration among the university, government, and community while contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. 27 August 2026

Exploring the World of Plantations, Agrotechnology Students of the Faculty of Agriculture USU Develop Competencies through Field Work Practice at PTPN IV Regional 1 Sei Silau Plantation Lecturers of the Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology of the Faculty of Agriculture USU conducted supervision of students' Field Work Practice (PKL) at PTPN IV Regional 1 Sei Silau Plantation, Asahan. This activity provided direct experience in plantation cultivation and management, from nursery to harvesting, while strengthening students' technical, observation, and work readiness skills. The implementation of PKL also supports the achievement of SDG 4, SDG 8, and SDG 17 through practice-based learning and collaboration between USU and PTPN IV Regional 1. 27 August 2026

USU Faculty of Agriculture Strengthens SDG Implementation and PLPS Recognition through Socialization Activity The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), participated in the Socialization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Recognition of Learning Programs Outside the Study Program (PLPS) organized by the USU Directorate of Education Development on Monday, August 24, 2026. USU Faculty of Agriculture Students Win Silver Medal in Mini Soccer at the 25th IMT-GT Varsity Carnival 2026 Students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), contributed to the USU Mini Soccer team’s achievement of second place at the 25th IMT-GT Varsity Carnival 2026 at Universitas Negeri Padang. This achievement demonstrates the contribution of FP USU students to an international event while supporting competency development, networking, and inter-university collaboration in the IMT-GT region, in line with SDG 4 and SDG 17. 27 August 2026

Not Just Learning in the Classroom, Agrotechnology Students of the Faculty of Agriculture USU Develop Competencies Directly at an Oil Palm Plantation through Field Work Practice at PT Kerasaan Indonesia Students of the Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, conducted Field Work Practice (PKL) at PT Kerasaan Indonesia to strengthen their competencies and experience in oil palm plantation management. Through supervision by their field supervisor, students received guidance and evaluation of the activities they carried out as preparation for entering the workforce. This activity also supports the achievement of SDG 4, SDG 8, and SDG 17 through experiential learning and strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and industry. 26 August 2026

Food Technology Lecturer at FP USU Wins Best Oral Presentation in Malaysia Siti Basyariah Putri Lubis, S.TP., M.Si., a Food Technology lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), won the Best Oral Presentation award at the 4th International Food Research Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for research on the prebiotic potential of maltooligosaccharides derived from orange-fleshed sweet potato. The achievement highlights FP USU’s academic contributions at the international level while strengthening research collaboration between lecturers and students. 24 August 2026
