FP USU Leaders Attend Alumni Gathering in Pekanbaru, Strengthening Networks with Alumni Across Various Sectors Leaders of the Faculty of Agriculture USU attended the IKA USU Riau Region Alumni Gathering in Pekanbaru as an effort to strengthen communication and networks with alumni working across various sectors. Food Technology Student of FP USU Selected for the Indofood Riset Nugraha (IRN) Program 2026–2027 Aura Faqiha Bahrainy, a student of the Undergraduate Program in Food Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), was selected for the Indofood Riset Nugraha (IRN) Program 2026–2027 with research on optimizing the drying process and the antidiabetic potential of Samosir shallot powder. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., this research represents a step toward strengthening the culture of research and innovation in local food in line with the achievement of the SDGs. 28 September 2026

Agrotechnology Students of FP USU Learn Plantation Management Practices through PLPS at PTPN IV Regional II, North Sumatra Agrotechnology students of FP USU participated in the Learning Outside the Study Program (PLPS) Program at PTPN IV Regional II, North Sumatra. Through internship experience in a plantation environment, students gained practical understanding of cultivation, commodity management, technology application, and competency development as preparation for entering the workforce and supporting sustainable agriculture. 28 September 2026

When Learning Meets the Rhythm of Plantation Work: Agrotechnology Students of FP USU Undertake PLPS at PTPN IV Regional I, North Sumatra Agrotechnology students of FP USU participated in the Plug and Play program through the Learning Outside the Study Program (PLPS) at PTPN IV Regional I, North Sumatra. This activity provided direct experience in a plantation work environment while strengthening students' competencies, professionalism, and readiness to enter the workforce, as well as supporting sustainable agriculture. 28 September 2026

Faculty of Agriculture USU Students Win Gold Medal and ICGI Special Award through Magglo Nutri Scan Innovation Six students of the Undergraduate Program in Aquatic Resources Management (MSP), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), who are members of Kasgotrela Innovation, successfully won a Gold Medal and ICGI Special Award at the Indonesia International Invention Expo 2026 through the Magglo Nutri Scan innovation. This achievement represents the students' contribution to developing innovation in line with SDG 9 and SDG 12 through the spirit of “From Waste to Worth”. 28 September 2026

Jejak Mariteam: USU Student Supports the SDGs through Literacy Education for Fishermen's Children Putri Maharani, a student of the Undergraduate Program in Aquatic Resources Management at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), initiated Jejak Mariteam as a literacy and community empowerment movement for children of fishermen in Nelayan Seberang Village. Through reading, writing, and numeracy activities at the Aulia Mangrove Reading House, this initiative also supports the strengthening of basic education in line with SDG 4: Quality Education. 25 September 2026

Field Experience through PLPS at PPKS Enriches Learning for Agrotechnology Students of the Faculty of Agriculture USU Agrotechnology students of the Faculty of Agriculture USU gained direct experience through the PLPS program at the Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS) Medan. This activity broadened students' insights into research, development, and the application of oil palm technology while developing their skills as preparation for entering the workforce in the agricultural sector.
